This FjordMoods desk is based on a worn table from a community hall and a modest bedside table from the 1950s. The discarded pieces of furniture are up-cycled into a unique desk with intricate details.

All materials are reclaimed, and the desk is made without toxic chemicals.

The worn surface of birch veneer has been restored using bog oak estimated by archaeologists to be around 3,000 years old.

This oak grew in Soldal, Hardanger, Norway, when pharaohs ruled Egypt and the Bronze Age was coming to an end.

The tree was preserved in peat, later discovered, and gifted to FjordMoods by Morten.

Now, a small piece of it is given new purpose.

The piece of ancient oak makes the repair perhaps the most valuable part of the desk.

At the same time, the piece remains functional and adaptable: the desk can be disassembled and reconfigured, serving both as a table and a side table.

The desk is paired with a SONDRE chair from 2050 Furniture.
